The year 2016 is off to a good start. Part 1 of Bill’s two-part series about his participation at Operation CROSSROADS in 1946 was published in the Winter 2016 edition of the national quarterly magazine of the U.S. Navy Cruiser Sailors Association (USNCSA) … Click on the link to read Operation Crossroads, Part 1, USNCSA Magazine.

In Part 1, Bill recounts the journey in 1946 on the heavy cruiser USS Fall River (CA-131), en route from Norfolk, Virginia, to a destination unknown…which turned out to be the Bikini Atoll for Operation CROSSROADS, the first postwar atomic bomb tests.

Response to Part 1 triggered many questions from readers. This has inspired Bill to expand the text and dedicate a brief memoir to his participation at CROSSROADS. His goal: to publish in June 2016 to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Operation Crossroads.
