The Solomons Campaigns, 1942-1943 by William L. McGee has been designated as a 2018 awards finalist by the Military Writers Society of America (MWSA). The award category – Gold, Silver, or Bronze – will be announced at MWSA’s General Membership Conference on November 9, 2018 in Charleston, South Carolina. Sandra McGee, Bill’s publishing partner and wife, may attend the Conference on his behalf.
Published in 2001, The Solomons Campaigns, 1942-1943 garnered immediate critical acclaim. The Marine Corps League wrote, “Enough gripping drama, heroism, and heartbreak in McGee’s almost encyclopedic work to supply Hollywood with material for a century.”
MWSA is a nationwide association of authors drawn together by the common bond of military service. Their motto is “Saving History One Story at a Time.”
