“Reno Memories”

A special featurette about former Nevada divorce ranch wrangler William L. McGee. Bill recalls “some of the best years of my life” working on the famous Flying M.E. divorce ranch during the heyday of the Reno divorce era. This special featurette, produced by Cloverland for Twentieth Century Fox, is on the DVD with Fox’s 2007 re-release of their 1939 film Charlie Chan in Reno. Available in the 4-DVD box set, The Charlie Chan Collection, Vol. 4.

“Welcome to Reno – America’s Divorce Resort”

The Reno divorce era comes alive in this two-minute clip from the 15-minute documentary short about the Reno divorce era. Former Nevada divorce ranch wrangler Bill McGee provides on-camera commentary.  This documentary short, produced by Cloverland for Twentieth Century Fox, is on the DVD with Fox’s 2007 re-release of their 1939 film Charlie Chan in Reno. “A Return to the Flying M.E.”

On May 16, 2004, the gates of the famous Flying M.E. dude-divorce ranch (now a private residence) were opened to 70 guests to celebrate the release of William L. McGee and Sandra V. McGee’s book, The Divorce Seekers: A Photo Memoir of a Nevada Dude Wrangler. Nearly every guest had a personal connection with the luxury dude ranch of the 1940s and a story to tell about its legendary proprietor, Emmy Wood.
